branching lines

A branch in space is a line of text without context, shadow, horizon. The slow time it takes to render its edges, pieces of bark, lichen, or the palm frond’s spaces between. This work is focus, a dialing in while weaving and abstraction feels like dilation and working quickly with no plan. A branch, a line is a memory of a place without anything to say.

2016-present, an ongoing project.

Graphite, acrylic, sometimes watercolor on paper, old book pages, wood panels.
