At Play Between . . .

“At Play Between: The Obeid Buildling” takes its name from Sarat Maharaj’s idea that textiles are “at play between genres,” and the name of a building on Electra Street in Abu Dhabi. The exhibited photograph are pages from The Abu Dhabi Guide: Modern Architecture, 1968-1992, edited by Pascal Menoret, where photos are accompanied by narratives about the buildings’ inhabitants. “At Play Between . . . ” explores the unfolding of embodied experiences inside the built environment. Exhibited in “PLAY,” juried group show at Tashkeel, 2019.
